The con🐷troversial casinos of Goa were hit with another blow yesterday with the news that no decision has been made yet on when they will be allowed to reopen.
Under the Union 5.0 guidelines issued by the Union Ministry for Home Affairs, most activities in Goa will reopen with limits on the numbers of people in establish🎶ments and at events.
However, although the casino industry submitted proposals to resume operations, the floating casinos on the River Mandovi and the onshore casinos onshore will remain closed for now♏.
The Goa casinos were ordered shut in May as part of coronavirus measures leading to the industry begging for financial help from the government to stay afloat.
While the off🎶shore casinos were given yet another six-month extension to operate at the end of September, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s (pictured) position has not changed since June when he warned that the casinos wouldn't reopen anytime soon.
