Kolkata-based Dangal Games, an online skill-based gaming platform, has raised $1 million from a strategic investoꦉr in its Series A funding round.
Danga🍌l Games, a.k.a. Xeta Networks Pvt. Ltd., was founded in 2017 by Varun Mahna, Varun Puri, Shashwat Jain, Karan Gandhi and Manan Sobti. The platform has over 5 lakh users between its products PokerDangal and RummyDangal that have made their mark in the gaming industry. With the new funding, the platform aims to grow its foothold in the industry with new products, as per a in Animation Express. The overall aim of the platform is to become a leading player in the skill-based online gaming industry.
The company also aims to add Fantasy Games to i🦂ts portfolio before IPL 2021 besides launching its casual gaming vertical in the next quar🐷ter.
Mahna, Dangal Games founder and CEO, said, “The fund would be used to diversify the product portfolio and build the tech capabilities of the b⛄usiness. The online gaming industry in India is surging like never before. After the pandemic, our whole plꦓatform endured an inclining power shot in acquisition and user-time spent.”
“We also want to utilise the funds to grow the gaming ecosystem in the country and enable more༒ g𓃲aming tech start-ups with investments,” he added.
Mahna stressed on the platform’s focus on responsible ga🌠ming and prioritizing users’ needs.
