WTF Sports on Tuesday announced their two new brand ambassadors in the shape of India women's T20 team captai🌄n Harmanpreet Kaur alongside Indian batsman Suresh Raina.
Raina, who plays for leading IPL team Chennai Super Kings, will also be taking on a role as a strategic partner. During a launch webinar, Reina said: "It is exciting to be a part of a fantasy sports platform like WTF Sports, not just as an ambassador, but also as a strategiꦅc partner. It is everything I embody and what I believe in - it's fierce, fun, and competitive."
Kaur commented: "WTF Sports was the perfect fit with me. I can use strategy and my experience while playing. I've actually learnt to strategize better as I've played along. Additionally, when we were under lockdown, and I couldn't really practice, it was fun to come on the platform and feel like I'm still pla♔ying."
Under the lockdown, fantasy sports thrived with 5 million users engaged between April and June as sporting competitions bega🌊n to start again across the world.
WTF Sports currently offers fantasy cricket, football, and baseball on its Android app, with free and cash contests availabౠle. The WTF stands for 'win, trade, fantasy', but of course shares its initials with a more famous, 🌟edgy catchphrase.
The news that two more high-profile stars have joined an online gaming company as ambassadors will no doubt annoy one Chennai advocate. A plea filed recently called for the arrest of Virat Kohli - the Mobile P෴remier Leᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚague ambassador - among others for endorsing online gambling.
The fantasy sports market in India is extremely competitive with over 150 operators in existence according to a recent Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS) report. The study said there were as many as 90 million fantasy users in the country, witꦓh the overall market sꩵet to be worth Rs. 2,500 Crores by the end of 2020.
