Bookie caught after year of cop chase in IPL betting rack﷽et
Niranjan Parik, alias Gopal, was on the run for a year before being finally apprehended by the Mumbai city crime unit. The accused was booked in an IPL betting case and was arrested recently leading to several revelations. The tip-off came from Sachin Waze, a dismissed assistant police inspector and the former head of the crime intelligence unit.

Dream11 parent Dream Sports rece꧒ives $840 million funding at $8 billion🐷 valuation
Sports tech firm Dream Sports, which owns the online fantasy platform Dream11, has closed a $840 million funding round led by Falcon Edge, DST Global, D1 Capital, Redbird Capital and Tiger Global. The round also saw participation from existing investors TPG and Footpath Ventures. The round values the firm at $8 billion, up from $5 billion in March this year when it raised $400 million in secondary financing.

A 34-year-old Pune accountant was scammed of Rs. 46 lakh by cybercriminals, after being informed he was chosen as the winner of a lottery worth Rs. 25 lakh. In the space of two months between May and July, the victim deposited money into 15 different bank accounts as a part of the process of the supposed ‘delivery of prize money'.
